The LSU-Florida Soap Opera and the Dallas QB Controversy

LSU and Florida made rescheduling their game cancelled by Hurricane Matthew way harder than it had to be. Not sure why they didn't take the stance that South Carolina and Georgia took and played the game on Sunday instead of Saturday. While not ideal, Florida would have kept their home game instead of now having to travel to Baton Rouge. Essentially these teams decided to play chicken on rescheduling until really, the bad press forced them to resolve and the SEC being powerless to handle it themselves which of course they will now get around to fixing and giving the commissioner the power to handle such matter. I guess you could say the big winners were Presbyterian and South Alabama who will get their payouts for being non-conference sacrifices without the on field onslaught.

Now that the Dallas Cowboys are 4 -1, those that like to push talk show fodder are ramping up the heat on whether Tony Romo should start when he returns from injury or if they keep rolling with Dak Prescott. As a Cowboys fan, I have to say this is a great problem to have given the well-documented facts of how poor the Cowboys record is without Romo prior to this year. While it isn't always fair to lose your job because of injury, it is clear to me that if Dallas is still riding high when Romo is ready, that you ride the hot hand. The chemistry is working and you have to put the team first. The man Romo replaced in Dallas, Drew Bledsoe, was in the same situation in New England when Tom Brady took over for him because of injury and you know the rest. I'm not comparing Prescott to Brady but it does deserve to play out with him remaining as the starter.

And with that, we are done here. Back with a podcast next week.
